About Us 

Briar Creek Road Baptist Church was originally named Commonwealth Baptist Church and founded in 1948 to serve the Commonwealth, Briar Creek and Morningside neighborhoods on the east side of Charlotte, North Carolina.


Through the Churches 57 year history many names and faces have changed both in the church and in the neighborhoods surrounding the church.
These changes have blessed us to become a dynamic, unique and diverse part of the community. Please feel free to visit our Heritage Room where you will find a complete history of the church.
